Pickup driver dies after high-speed smash
PHUKET: A Thai man died yesterday evening (May 24) after his pickup truck slammed into a power pole on Thepkrassattri Rd, near the Srisoonthorn Municipality offices.

Witnesses said the car was travelling north, very fast through heavy rain and the driver apparently lost control.
The driver, identified as Pichai Chuaytan, 40, from Phuket, was seriously injured in the smash. He was taken first to Thalang Hospital and then transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital, where he died.
