Last December, the vision of local businessman Mongkol Hongsyok – aided by a creative design by Adirake Mososod – for a hybrid cafe, lounge, gallery and shop became a reality.
“Mr Mongkol told me what he wanted to do and I helped him bring it to reality,” says Mr Adirake. “He wanted to open a piano lounge in Phuket and I thought it would be a great idea.”
Baan Sea Nam currently has live music every night, provided by a roster of talented musicians who play a mixture of jazz, blues and Bossa Nova, as well as song requests by patrons.
“We’re still in the initial stages, so we’re trying to see what works,” says Mr Adirake.
Given its many different guises, the venue is able to appeal to many different types, but Mr Adirake says the target market is much like the overall ambience of the place – classy.
“It’s for people who are looking for a unique experience and something more casual,” says Mr Adirake.
Much like the clothes that he designs, “I get the material from Bangkok, I design it myself and get it made here. They’re all very unique pieces – resort style, casual, classic and attractive. The clothes I design for women are all very sexy and attractive, and make women feel good.”
Mr Adirake will be unveiling his new collection at the end of April.
