Phuket volunteer hit by car, in coma
PHUKET: A volunteer with the Kusoldharm Foundation, Jiradetch Sawadjan, 20, was rushed to Vachira Hospital on Monday after being hit by a car. He was travelling home on his motorbike at the time, after finishing a shift with the Foundation.

This evening Mr Jiradetch was still in a coma.
The accident took place near the Thai Rath Wittaya 29 School in Kathu. Another volunteer told The Phuket News that the driver of the car seemed to be drunk, but police did not apparently require a blood alcohol test from him.
Police declined to name the driver of the car, explaining that the incoident is under investigation and they are waiting for Mr Jiradetch to come out of his coma so that they can interview him about the accident.
