Phuket volunteer dies in car crash

PHUKET: A Phuket City security volunteer, Apinan Chaibandit, 48, died instantly when he crashed his car into a metalwork shop on Chao Fa East Rd in the early hours of yesterday (February 9).

Four staff who were drinking in front of the shop leapt out of the way just in time to avoid becoming victims too. Police said they believe Mr Apinan may have fallen asleep at the wheel.
