Luckily, none of the 10 Russian passengers aboard was seriously hurt and all are safely back in Phuket.
The minibus overshot a left-hand bend, sliding across the opposite lane and off the road.
Passengers said they felt the driver of the Andaman Visa minibus was driving too fast on wet roads, but Pol Lt Col Niporn Yanpaisan of Takua Pa police Station told The Phuket News, “The van was not being driven too fast. This road is always dangerous when it rains.
Col Niporn said, “My car also slid off the road and I was doing only 60 kmh. The road is very slippery and possibly things were made worse by liquid dropping from the many fish trucks that drive up and down it.”
He added, "Some Visa Run minibuses are driven really fast, but not in this case."
Calls to Andaman Visa and to the minibus driver this morning were not answered.
