Phuket road on the downhill slide
PHUKET: Motorists heading over the Patong Hill could be forgiven for getting a sinking feeling.

A stretch of recently “repaired” road is slowly slipping away, sending almost an entire lane on the downhill slide.
The section of road is near the top of the hill on the Patong side. On the Kathu side of the hill, the pavement is also beginning to sag next to a downed power pole and appears only a storm or two away from breaking off.
People should be exercise caution when going over the hill – the danger areas are marked with cones and barriers but appear after blind corners, and traffic is moving slowly as people stop to take a look.
