The police found Sarawut Leejareukul, 24, playing computer games in the NF internet café in Wichit.
When he was searched they found a .32 calibre handgun with seven bullets and a .38 pistol with five bullets.
They also found two tablets of the anti-anxiety drug Alprazolam and a bottle of antihistamine liquid.
Sarawut told them that the guns were purely for his own protection but police had reason to believe that he was planning to use them to shoot “an enemy”.
He was taken to the new Wichit police station while further investigations are carried out.
Apart from being charged with possession of unlicensed weapons, police also found he was wanted on an earlier charge of trespass.
