Paddle for the Planet is held to create awareness about marine conservation prior to World Environment Day on June 5. Paddlers from around the world will participate in various events on the same day.
Organised by Skyla’s Surf & SUP Club and Longtail, the Phuket event will start at 8am. Paddlers will leave from Ao Po Pier, arrive at Naka Noi where they will have lunch, then return to Phuket.
“It’s a fun and relaxing paddle with some spectacular scenery to raise awareness for the Paddle for the Planet,” says organiser Tim Campbell.
“The event is bringing together paddlers from around the world to hopefully raise money but mainly to raise awareness of the importance of keeping our waterways clean. This is also supporting World Environment Day.”
“We are representing Thailand and anyone is welcome to come and join. You can use any sort of paddling craft as long as you can go the distance.”
There will also be a support boat in tow, and if anyone needs a board or more information they can contact Tim at info@skylaphuket.com.
