The market, titled “OTOP City Four Regions”, aims to promote and sell unique products from north, south and west Thailand, and Isarn.

Products will include batik clothing, pearl jewellery, traditional food, clothes and other handicrafts.

Phuket Governor Maitree Intusut said during a press conference that the government promoted OTOP products to increase awareness about using local products and resources to improve the range of unique products available in each area. It was also a good way to generate income within the community, he said.

In the past 10 years around B800 million in revenue has been generated from local sales and exports of OTOP products made in Phuket.
