This year, the event will showcase a younger generation of Phuket jazz musicians, and give them a unique opportunity to perform for the first time.
Music Matter was formed by and for locals and foreigner musicians living or visiting the island.
Nowadays it is something of an institution in Phuket Town for jazz enthusiasts, with listeners and musicians alike gathering for its popular Wednesday “Jazz Jam” night, held since 2000.
Jeffrey says jazz music is not only a musical genre, but a “universal language of sharing and a multi-cultural message of love and tolerance”.
Everybody is invited to celebrate second International Jazz Day at Music Matter (119 Chana Charoen Rd, Phuket Town), on April 30, from 8pm to 1am.
The Phuket News and Live 89.5 are media sponsors of this event.
