Events and entertainment company Spotlight Productions will again help stage the event, now in its second year.

The 2011 Phuket City Jazz Summit was held in October last year at the Lemon Grass Restaurant in Phuket Town, and was graced by many great Thai and foreign jazz musicians and aficionados.

It was a highly successful event that was originally planned as a posthumous tribute for Filipino pianist Romy Navio, one of Phuket’s original jazz musicians.

The musical event was spearheaded by Romy’s Thai-born son, Boy Navio, who is currently acclaimed as one of the best jazz guitarists on the island, and his uncle, jazz bassist and Spotlight Production GM, Francois Bona.

Having been encouraged by the good reception, the pair have organised the second Jazz Summit, to be held this coming November 4.

The 2012 Phuket City Jazz Summit, in cooperation with the newly-formed Phuket Jazz Society, venue sponsor The Katina Hotel, and other sponsors, brings to the fore a select roster of jazz musicians collectively formed from the best homegrown talents on the island.

Confirmed for this year are the Boy Navio Jazz Group, Bluroom Band from the JW Marriott headed by Francois Bona, Jeffrey Sevilla of Music Matter, Mari Okawa Jazz Chanteuse, Editha Ballesteros, Peter Pollert Saxman, Bong Bello Jazz Project, Lek Hisashi, Arvie Bautista, Prasert Jazz Quartet, Khun Noi Sax, Haru Nabekura, plus more acts from Bangkok and Manila.

The event will be on November 4, 2012 at the Katina Hotel (5/61 Sakdidaj Rd, Phuket Town) from 8pm to 2am. It is a free event and open to all.
