The hospital was founded in 1982 by Anuroj Thansiriroj and opened on Krabi Rd, Phuket Town, with just 35 beds.

The hospital moved to its present location on the bypass road in 1993, opening with 92 beds. A major expansion raised that number to the current 151 beds.

Hospital director Dr Suchart Areemit, noting the recent addition of the hospital’s Aesthetics Centre, said, “We are preparing to offer more services in our 31st year.”

The “Run for Health, Run for Charity” event will take place in February, with a mini-marathon, a fun run and a “VIP race”.

Registration opened today (December 25) and will close on February 20 next year. Anyone wanting to enter may do so by visiting the hospital or by calling 076 249 400 or 080 532 2556.

Meanwhile, the hospital has been looking for children who might benefit from its ‘Alternative Medicine and Rehabilitation for Children with Cerebral Palsy’ project. It has set a target of 20 children to be treated under this project.

“So far we have 14 children, so we are looking for six more,” Dr Suchart said. To suggest a child for inclusion in the project call the same numbers as above.
