He told The Phuket News, “This Songkran Festival, which is also the Thai New Year Day, I wish all those in Phuket good luck, happiness, the fulfillment of their hopes, prosperity and health in both body and mind in the coming year.”
He also made a plea for people to be safety-conscious on the roads and considerate while celebrating.
“For anybody travelling to visit their families in another provinces, please be careful during your journey. I wish you a safe arrival at your destination.
“During the Songkran water-throwing [street parties] this year, I would ask everybody to bear in mind their own and others’ safety, and our beautiful traditions. Please do not make trouble for others.”
