Phuket Vocational College Director Sunthron Polrong, and Phuket Director of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) Virat Patee, officially unveiled the sea dragon last Friday (February 24) at a ceremony at the college.
Some 30,000 souvenir dragon mascots are being produced. They will initially be on sale at Phuket Vocational College, costing B350 for a large size and B250 for small.
Mr Sunthorn said he plans to have these dolls available for sale elsewhere as well.
“I am contacting hotels, shops and restaurants in Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi to help sell these mascot dolls. The revenue raised will be used to support and promote the Games, so Phuket people and visitors can be involved in supporting them,” Mr Sunthorn said.
To order a dragon mascot, contact Phuket Vocational College on 076-214-818 ext 701.
