The Islanders' French midfielder Geoffrey Doumeng opened the scoring in the 8th minute against the visiting East Coast team - known as the "Blue Marlins" - and Brazilian striker Dudu Purcino followed up with a goal in the 17th minute.
The visitors took a consolation goal early in the second half, but another goal from Dudu settled the score five minutes from full time - to the noisy delight of more than 4000 fans at Phuket's Surakul Stadium.
The home win for Phuket FC gives them a valuable three league points after the first two matches of the season - an away game against BBCU and a home game against Bangkok FC last weekend - both ended as draws.
Phuket next play on March 23 at Surakul in a Toyota League Cup game against PTT Rayong FC.
In other Yamaha League 1 games today, Khon Kaen lost 0-2 to Rayong United, Saraburi lost 1-2 to Singtharua, Krabi defeated Ayutthaya 3-0, and Navy drew nil-all with Big Bang Chula United (BBCU).
