Like its sister tournament, the Cricket Sevens being played this week, the Phuket International Cricket Sixes have changed venue to the ACG this year – last year’s tournament was played at a stadium in Karon.
The tournament will open with an invitational Twenty20 format game between the visiting tournament players and local cricketers, on Wednesday, 17 April, at 1.30 pm, with the regular Cricket Sixes competition being played over the following days.
The founder of the ACG, Mr Alan Cooke MBE, welcomed the change of tournament venue as a "common sense" decision.
The Cricket 7s tournament is underway at the ACG today (Wednesday, April 10) and on Thursday (April 11) – spectators are welcome, and refreshments are available at the ACG pavilion.
