One is Ilya Kononenko, aged 28. The other is Evgenyi Sopatenko, aged 25. Both are from Primorskyi Province in the Russian Far East, the capital of which is Vladivostok.
The two were also injured, but received outpatient treatment and are currently waiting until police can bring in an interpreter so that they can ask the duo for their version of the story.
Their names have been given to Immigration so that they cannot leave the country easily before the case is resolved.
Both Mr Travers and Ms Jen remain in the Bangkok Hospital, he with a badly broken cheekbone that will require surgery and insertion of a metal plate, and she with a broken nose. Both claim they were attacked without provocation. (See earlier story here).
