The winner will need to eat the most pieces of cake in 20 minutes.
Participants will initially be given 10 slices of different cakes – white brownie, lemon, vanilla, chocolate, brownie, blueberry cheesecake, black forest, dark cheesecake, black and white cake, and American chocolate cake.
If they manage to successfully eat these within the time given, they will be given another 10 pieces.
The winner, who successfully devours the most slices of cake without being sick, will be awarded B10,000, a VIP discount card for the hotel, and a trophy.
In a sickening display of sportsmanship, anyone who vomits will be immediately disqualified.
The event starts at 2pm, with the cake-eating contest beginning at 3.30pm. There will also be dance performances, with the competition winner being crowned around 4.15pm.
Registration is open daily before 1pm at the hotel on Phang Nga Rd, Phuket Town. People can also enter on Sunday, but it must be before 1pm. The competition is open to both foreigners and Thais.
Thai entrants need to bring their ID card, along with a copy. If the participant is under 15 years old or does not have an ID card, they need to bring their birth certificate. Foreigners need to bring their passport, along with a copy.
Registration is B500. This includes a competition T-shirt, certificate (if they complete the competition without being sick), a VIP discount card for the hotel, and a B300 voucher for the hotel’s 154 cafe.
