Pol Lt Col Yongyuth Krongmalai, of Phuket Police, said Mr Teerapon, also known as Nate Bussarakam, lived alone in the apartment.
“The owner of the apartment found his body. She said she always saw him when he woke up in the morning, but yesterday was unusual and she hadn’t heard from him,” Col Yongyuth said.
“She went to his room. She tried to call to him, but there was no response. Looking through the window she saw him lying on the bed and realised there was something wrong.”
For years Mr Teerapon was regarded as a local expert on Buddhist amulets and relics.
Buddhist amulet buyer Booncheun Udomsap said he knew of Mr Teerapon and said he was “very skilled in this business around 10 years ago.”
“He was quite famous [in Phuket] for a few years, but then he disappeared from the circle.”
Mr Teerapon also released an album of songs in 2011, titled Eek Kaoyang Bontangfan Khongwanmai.
