The Angsana Youth Artist scholarship fund will be used to propel two students’ careers by providing financial support for them to continue with their education, enabling them to pursue creative opportunities in their chosen field.

The fund will be divided into two scholarships for two selected students from Ratchapat Phuket University.

Kamolux Israngkul Na Ayuthaya, Angsana Laguna Phuket manager of public relations, said, “We will start funding the two students from the upcoming semester. We will provide each student with approximately B16,666 for each of the six semesters throughout three years.”

Each student will also receive an approximate B46,000 for educational materials such as textbooks, stationery, and other relevant educational expenses.

The idea for the Angsana Youth Artist scholarship came from a Charity Mural Project that was created to coincide with the opening of the resort in December 2011.

The 14 sqm mural is made up of 350 tiles designed by renowned Australian artist Christopher Hogan, who conducted art classes for young guests during the launch of Angsana Laguna Phuket’s Tree House Kids Club.

When combined, each tile created a unique collage in the distinctive purple hues of Angsana Laguna Phuket’s colours. Guests and visitors were able to sign the finished tiles to leave their permanent mark at the resort.

The scholarship students will have the opportunity to intern at Angsana Laguna Phuket when Christopher Hogan returns to the resort to teach art classes at Tree House Kids Club during each summer.
