The re-enactment was based around the famous battle of 1785, between the people of Phuket and invading Burmese forces, and is part of the annual Heroines' Festival.
The Thao Thep Krasattri-Thao Sri Sunthorn Festival celebrates the two sisters, Chan and Mook, who led the fighters of Phuket in repelling the Burmese.
The decisive battle against the Burmese took place on March 13, after which the invaders withdrew.
Last night’s re-enactment featured around 600 local performers who took to the stage.
The spectacular show will be staged again tonight (March 14) and tomorrow night (March 15), starting at 8.30pm and lasting a couple of hours.
