Registration takes place at Lan Mangkon, next to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) office on Thalang Rd in the Old Town, and the photo shoot will take place from 12.30pm to 6.30pm.
With an expected participation of 100 photographers, all models will be standing at seven stations along Thalang Rd. Many Baba ladies will join the event as part of the Peranakan Association.
Three awards will be given out: the first to the “Best Pro Snapper”, the second to the “Best Young Snapper” (both chosen by a committee), and the third for the most likes on Facebook.
The day’s schedule is as follows:
12.30 – 13.30 Registration at Lan Mangkon
13.30 – 14.30 Opening speech by the mayor of Phuket Town
14.30 – 17.30 Photo shoot along Thalang Road
17.30 – 18.00 Photo collection
From February 3-10, photographers should promote their photo on the event’s Facebook fanpage (facebook.com/BabaLifePhotoAtPhuket). Those with photos that receive the highest number of “likes” will be given the award of “Most Popular Like”.
On February 13, the three winners will be announced. Then from February 15-17, the winning photos will be shown in a three-day exhibition.
This event is being held to promote Phuket’s unique culture and architecture.
