Cliff Reeve, a radio host from Bunbury, Western Australia, created the photo book online after his most recent visit to the island last year.
“I basically did the book for myself, though my Dad had the very first copy as a birthday present on the weekend.
“I was going back though about a zillion photos from the last three visits with the idea of doing an album of printed photos, then I remembered seeing some online software to be able to produce your own book. Voila!”
Mr Reeve said the most important aspect for the book was making sure the photos were high quality.
“For hours, sometimes days, I would wander the streets with my camera and generally ask if I could take a picture. A simple smile combined with a wai usually achieved the desired result. Some were taken at a distance and to those people I offer a debt of gratitude.”
He lists his two favourite photos – both of a Thai lady and her baby.
“When I visited in 2007 I walked up and over the Patong bridge and found a tiny little store with a lovely lady and her infant son. I played “boo” with him for a minute or two and managed a shot I was very happy with.
“At Christmas time [2012] I found that store, met the lady again then gave her the initial photo and her now grown son was there too so I have another photo of all three of us.
“She spoke no English and my Thai is very, very basic but I think we understood each other and she seemed delighted to get the photo.”
