Police said this morning that friends had visited the body but could not 100 per cent confirm it was Mr Reisz, and the investigators are now relying on DNA tests.
Mr Reisz was reported missing to police by friends after they had been unable to contact him for around five days.
Police found the body with his hands tied with nylon rope, with severe head trauma and with multiple stab wounds to his back.
Initial investigation led police to believe that he had been dead for at least three days. They described the corpse as that of a Caucasian man, around 180-185 cms tall and weighing around 90 kgs.
The body was transferred to Patong Hospital while Phuket Police continue with their investigations.
