More wet weather on the way

PHUKET: Somsri Hantrakul, the director general of the Thailand Weather Department, has issued a warning that monsoon conditions will bring heavy rain and winds across Thailand, including the Andaman Coast region, from tomorrow until next Monday (September 13-17).

Wave heights are predicted to reach two metres or more.

The bad weather is part of a storm system generated by Tropica; Storm Sanba, currently to the east of the Philippines, which is generating wind speeds of up to 85 kilometers an hour near the center.

Sanba is moving at about 15 kilometers an hour to the northwest and is expected to make landfall near Taiwan.
