More wet weather is expected to arrive in Phuket from Thursday.

It is likely to bring heavy rain to the North, Northeast, Central, East and Upper Southern regions of Thailand.

This, combined with the southwest monsoon over the Andaman, is also expected to bring heavy rain and winds to the Andaman Coast, lasting until next Monday (October 8).

The SMC warned of dangerous conditions in the sea, with waves running at heights of 2-3 metres. Small boats should not venture out. Red “no swimming” flags are likely to be erected at all beaches on the west coast of Phuket.

Typhoon Maliksi, in mid-Pacific, appears to be heading for Japan. If it stays on this track it is unlikely to affect the weather in Phuket.
