The Thai Meteorological Office (TMO) is predicting stormy weather for the rest of the week, with southwesterly winds of 20 km/hr, gusting up to twice that speed, and wave heights of 2-3 meters.
Flooding is less likely than in the past few days, thanks to lower high tides, which peaked at 2.9 metres this afternoon before receding.
This was confirmed by Kathu District Chief Veera Kerdsirimongkol, who said this evening, "It's not a problem."
In Phuket Town so far, there have been no reports of flooding.
There is, however, the possibility of mudslides or flash floods in hilly areas.
It will be weather for umbrellas and rubber boots – or simply staying indoors.
