The woman, Gao Li Ping, 35, was visiting the tiger zoo in a group of Chinese tourists when she disappeared on Sunday evening, prompting Nong Kham police, administrative officials and rescuers of a local charity foundation to launch a search for the woman on Sunday night and yesterday (Sept 12), but to no avail.
The examination of the footage of 122 CCTV cameras at the zoo also revealed no trace of her.
The woman was finally found by local residents on today (Sept 13) as she was washing her clothes on the bank of a canal, about four kilometres from the tiger zoo.
The woman appeared a little exhausted when found. The residents took good care of her and informed the police.
Ms Gao was expected to be taken by police for a physical examination and questioning later today.
A Chinese tour guide told police on Sunday that Ms Gao was travelling with the tour group after breaking up with her husband and that she appeared to be under stress and often went off on her own.
