Phuket: Ken Brookes and his partner Lori Ashton had moved to Phuket 17 years ago and were largely involved with supporting local charities. The couple were also well known within the Phuket sailing community. Lori and Ken had also set up Serendipity Design which also produces The Art & Culture publications.
Born in the UK but later moving to Canada before finally settling down in Phuket, Ken had completed his law studies in Canada and was a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Nova Scotia Barristers' Association and the Canadian Real Estate Association.
His wife Lori Ashton was with him at the time of his death which was due to an illness while the couple were holidaying in The UK.
Ken will certainly be sadly missed in Phuket and beyond. The Phuket News also sends its deepest condolences to Lori and the rest of Mr Brookes’ family.
A memorial service will be held in Phuket at a later date. The Phuket News will announce more details shortly.
