PHUKET: Phuket has the third-greatest number of cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) in Thailand, with 200 reported cases on the island this year, according to Provincial Health Officer Dr Sak Taenchaikul.

Thailand recorded a 31 per cent increase in tourism receipts in 2011 over 2010, according to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports figures. The total earnings of B776 billion (US$25.45 billion) were also well above the original target of B716 billion (US$ 23 billion).
