Killer on the run after shooting massacre in Takuapa

TAKUAPA: Police are hunting a man who shot dead three men at Takuapa in Phang Nga province last night, including the father of Thai pop singer Ice RSiam.

Thai news reports say police they suspect Somsak Wongsri, 48, of killing the three victims around 5.10 pm on Saturday (December 22), after a dispute over a private path he used to get to his rubber plantation.

Wongsri then fled the area – about 130 km north of Phuket – and the police warn he may be armed and dangerous.

The bodies of one of the victims, 69 year-old Somboon Kimtorn, was discovered in the garage of a house in Takuapa's Bang Sai district. He had been shot five times, in the chest and arm, and was wearing only a loincloth when he was found.

Two more victims, Sarawat Boonklin, aged 31, and Prajomb Choojid, 42, were found dead in a rubber plantation about a kilometre away.

Each had been shot three times, in the head, neck and torso, with a 9mm pistol.

Thai-language news reports say the dispute arose after Prajomb and Sarawat bought the land and denied Somsak access to a path that led across their property to his rubber plantation nearby.

The police think Somboon was killed at his home by Somsak because he witnessed Somsak killing the other two men.

Somboon was the father of the pop singer Ice RSiam (Treechada Kimtin).
