In an interview with The Phuket News before his performance at the bar, Pun spoke about his life, work as a singer and his thoughts on Phuket.

“This is the first time for me singing in Sanaeha, but I have visited Phuket many times to sing in other places such as Timberhut and hotels,” he said.

“When I come to Phuket, I always meet nice people who take good care of me. Phuket also has tasty food and beautiful beaches.”

These days, Pun is not only a singer. He’s also an MC, and an actor on soap operas My Melody, Love 360 Degree and Farm Aey Farm Rak.

His new album – his first official collection of jazz music – was released recently and is now available in music shops and on his Facebook page, facebook.com/punpaibulkiat
“The name of the album is Jazz Diaw (meaning solo jazz).

“I have loved jazz music for a long time but I have never had the chance to write my own songs. The songs on this album are a mix between my newly-written songs, and covers, such as Rak Ter Tee Sud (Love You The Most), Rak Nirun (Forever Love) and Jong Rak (Let’s Love).

“This album is a limited edition. We produced 500 vinyl copies and 2,000 CDs targeting people who basically know us and like our work.”

When asked what type of music he likes the most, he said he did not have a favourite.

“Sometimes I want to listen to music without lyrics, and sometimes I want to listen to profound lyrics or Japanese songs. Also I like luk tung (Thai country music) because it has a fun rhythm.”
