Conveniently, the wallet had been dropped right outside Chalong police station, so Mr Songsak, 43, delivered it to Pol Col Krittpas Dazintharasorn, Superintendent of the station.

Col Krittpas checked the wallet and found B10,000, the equivalent of B600 in Indonesian Rupiah, several ATM cards and a Bangkok Hospital card in the name of Scotsman Stewart Davidson Crown.

Police were able to contact Mr Crown the same day and returned the wallet to him.
