The last edition of the trail attracted 200 people from amateurs to professionals.
The last edition of the trail attracted 200 people from amateurs to professionals.

This year, Thanyapura Sports & Leisure Club presents the 2nd annual one and only Phuket trail run in the majestic and adventurous Khao Phra Teao National Park with three different distances to choose from, including 4km, 8km, and 15km.

The route, alongside lush jungle, allows you to observe the beauty of pure nature while defying your endurance to get through the unpredictable rough path with steep climbs leading you to conquer the grand mountain.

Khao Phra Teao is one of Phuket’s national parks and mainly consists of an evergreen monsoon forest. Spanning over 23sqkm at the north end of the island, the park obtained a royal status from HM The King and therefore is very well preserved. The highest point of the mountain is at 442 metres.

The last edition of the trail attracted 200 people from amateurs to professionals, who enjoyed the challenging path in the surrounding vegetation. This year, the runners of the new distance, 15km, will have the opportunity to explore an untouched route where pure nature awaits.

Starting at 7am in front of Gate 3 of Thanyapura, the contestants will run along a road covered with big green trees for about 2km before getting to the area of Khao Phra Teao National Par. Trailers will then be offered a natural trail route.

Kaanda Beach Life

Running from tree to tree, trailers will pass the beautiful Tonsai Waterfall where the cold crystal clear water will ease their tiredness.

At the finish line, for all distances, contestants will receive medals, while the first three male and female winners of all distances will be awarded a trophy. The 1st male and female winner of 15km distance will be awarded B5,000.

The registration fee is B450 for the 15km distance, B350 for 8km and B250 for 4km which will also include a King of the Mountain shirt. Register now until August 28 at www.thanyapura.com/events or at the Thanyapura Club Services. Give them a call today on 076-336 000!

Asterix | 14 August 2016 - 10:29:10

On Saturday 13 August 2016, I called to book one person to the phone provided by The PhuketPost (076-336 000) to be confirmed by the Thanyapura Club Services that all bookings are closed since Friday 05 August 2016.
So, why The PhuketNews does an advertising about a social sport event if it is impossible to newcomers to book.
Also if Thanyapura Club Services want to plan social sport events, I would suggest they plan one start at 07:00 and another start at 09:00 to double the participants and many would be happy to start later in the morning that wake up at 05:00 especially if they are children.
At the Phuket HHH we do all run starts at 05:00 or 16:00 and everyone are happy about that.
I never go to public running and biking because all time it is too early in the morning between 04:00 and 07:00.
