Bas Meulendijks was last heard from two weeks ago. His friend, Martin van der Akker, said Mr Meulendijks was close to a Thai woman called Joy, who works as a manager in a hotel in Phuket or nearby.
“Her age is, we think, between 31 and 36 years.” Mr van der Akker wrote. “She is divorced and has a son called Bank who is about six years old. She lives with her parents who own a rubber plantation.”
Mr Meulendijks is also divorced, with two children from his marriage, a boy and a girl.
Anyone meeting Mr Meulendijks is urged to tell him to phone his friends at +31 6 50 20 23 92. Alternatively, they may contact The Phuket News by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 076 612 553 and asking for the editorial department.
