Chalong police described the man as Caucasian, aged between 25 and 30 years old, and 175cm in height. He had short hair, a beard, and was wearing a white T-shirt and white trousers.
Police found no evidence of a fight so are assuming his death was a suicide.
The body will be transferred in a few days from Patong Hospital to the police forensic laboratory in Surat Thani for autopsy.
