The Phuket News can exclusively reveal that despite no official announcement from Sydictive Element CEO Jirat Petnunthawong or publicised thumbs-up from Patong Deputy Mayor Chairat Sukbal, the controversial two-day event will now take place.
How do we know? Well, anybody who walked along Bangla Road this evening (December 24) is likely to know, as hundreds of flyers were eagerly thrust into passerby's hands and posters adorned many walls.
A large stage has also appeared opposite Bangla Road, right next to the Patong Police Box.
The flyer reads that tickets are available at a website address, which puts pay to speculation that the event - as it will be held on a public beach - would have to be free.
It still remains to be seen however, how the Phuket party people will react in the change of venue from the upscale Surin beach party, which would have included floating stages and Paris Hilton to what is likely to be an already packed-to-capacity Patong City on New Year’s Eve.
One Phuket resident, Sophida is relieved to have finally received confirmation that the concert is going ahead, but angry that it will be in Patong.
"It's going to be crazy in Patong with all the traffic. It's supposed to start at 3pm on December 30, but I think I'll have to leave my house in Phuket Town at 5am to get there in time."
Sophida added that she still 'couldn't believe' that there was so much uncertainty surrounding the event.
"I visited Sydictive's FaceBook page and send them a message, but they deleted it. I also sent them an email asking whether Akon will be performing, to which they never replied.
"They should have made an announcement by now, it starts in five days. I still feel confused. This is crazy."
Whether Paris or Akon will be in attendance also remains to be seen. We will keep you posted, as will the Bangla Road touts.
The Sydicitive website is currently down.
