The couple, identified as Fructuoso Beringuel, Jr, 45, and Annaliza See, 40, said they were headed on foot to a tuk tuk taxi stand near the Patong Hill intersection when a man on a motorbike drove past and snatched the woman’s hand bag.
Inside the bag was a white gold ring, two white gold necklaces, two gold rings, and a jade ring.
The couple said the man was dressed in black shirt and shorts, but they reportedly had not noticed the licence number, make or colour of his vehicle.
Police are now searching for the suspect.
