The Phuket Provincial Office announced last Tuesday (Sept 6) that PM Gen Prayut will lead the event with a speech on “Phuket: From World Class Destination to World Class Smart City & Startup Hub”. (See story here.)

The Phuket Provincial Office website today (Sept 13) still promotes the event as happening at Royal Phuket Marina. (Click here.)

However, The Phuket Provincial Office website has now posted a news release dated last Friday (Sept 9) reporting Phuket Governor Chamroen Tipayapongtada announcing that the Digital Startup event will be held at the Duangjit Resort & Spa in Patong.

“The venue has changed, but everything in the event schedule remains unchanged, only the location of the event has changed,” Phuket Provincial Public Relations Chief Buthsaya Jaipiem told The Phuket News today.

“The original venue was too small, so the event was moved to a larger venue with more space,” she explained.

SAFE FERTILITY CENTER

The full event programme is available in Thai and English at the official Thailand Startup website. (Click here.)

PM Gen Prayut will arrive in Phuket before 8am on Friday to officiate the opening of the new terminal at Phuket International Airport along with Transport Minister Arkom Tempitayapaisit.

After delivering his keynote address at the “Startup Thailand and Digital Thailand event in Patong, PM Gen Prayut will attend an event to meet with local residents at Phuket Rajabhat University (PRU) in Rassada, north of Phuket Town.

Organisers for the PRU public appearance have told The Phuket News that they expect more than 2,000 people to turn out to see the Prime Minister.

The hub of hub- of hubs, hub. Hub

Arghhh it's all so.....INFANTILE.

Prime Minister Prayut openedd on 16 Sept. on Phuket the WORLD CLASS SMART CITY & START UP HUB ON PHUKET.

Now we are 2.5 months further, Prime Minister, what until now is the follow up of your opening? Any idea?

Just let forget your other opening, that of Phuket International airport terminal, what brought so much shame on Thailand with a complete uncoordinated airport staff, specially about the Immigration department.
Worldwide press noticed by all video's, selfies and emails

That 16 September visit to Phuket of the Prime minister didn't bring anything good as he speeches.
Just words, but no hard facts or results.

Let me understand well: A start up is a start up! When?

Shall we start with the normal road potholes repairs?
With providing the more than 1200 thai sea gypsies the comfort to feel thai as other thai?
Just a few thoughts. Reality thoughts.

'Hubs' can come later.
First hub to take is stop the Phuket beach pollution with letting flow untreated water from so many toilets, hotels, guest houses, laundries into the Phuket beaches.

Lets do some normal hubs first before going SMART!
On Phuket to do normal things is already smart doing.
