Mr Vorasit was released from Bangkok Hospital Phuket on Wednesday (January 11) to convalesce at home. He is still heavily bandaged and his right foot is in plaster, though he able to walk. Nurses have been hired to oversee his recovery at home.
His family, meanwhile, are understood to have hired lawyers to pursue the case against Mr Vorasit's attackers.
His mother, Sivala Issara, told the Governor that she was concerned that the attackers might try to injure her son again. Gov Tri assured her he would take care of this.
