The crabs, described as numbering “in the thousands” seemed to be moving from one section of mangrove to another across the road.
Local people had mixed thoughts on the crab march, some professing to be amazed, while others were blasé, describing it as an annual phenomenon.
Inspection of the crabs revealed that their bellies were thick with eggs.
