Councillor’s house damaged in fire
PHUKET:Three fire trucks took 30 minutes to put out a small fire in the home of a local councillor on Kathu Waterfall Rd last night (January 3).

Thungtong police were alerted to the fire by the owner of the house, Worawut Sukharom, a member of Kathu Municipality Council, at about 8pm. They in turn called for the fire trucks from Kathu Municipality.
Mr Worawut’s wife and son were treated at Patong hospital for minor burns but have since been released.
No other homes were damaged by the fire which Mr Worawut said was caused by an electrical short in the kitchen. He estimated the cost of repairing the damage at about B200,000.
