OrBorJor president Paiboon Upatising said, “We have called this meeting because of continuing complaints about rising prices of food and construction materials. In the coming week we will inspect places people have complained about.”
Supadcha Boonpalit, chief of the ITO, said, “Every day we send officials to check prices after people complain. If we find a shop overcharging, we warn them. If they continue to overcharge, we fine them.’
Ms Supadcha said that Super Cheap was one retailer that had been found at fault. “We fined Super Cheap because some items had no price tag. Other items had price tags but the price charged at the checkout counter was higher than the price on the tag.”
