Called to the villa at 2:30 am, police and rescuers found the lifeless form of 41-year-old Chen Li-Li, in knee-length black dress, lying next to the pool.
Witnesses told police that Mrs Chen had come to Phuket with her husband, arriving only hours before, whereupon they began to drink. Thereafter they went to to Soi Bangla in Patong, returning at about 2 am.
Mrs Chen bought a bottle of “foreign liquor” and continued drinking. Her husband, meanwhile, showered in preparation for going to bed.
“At that point, she sat drinking alone,” police explained. We believe she made a mis-step and fell into the pool.” Officers believe Mrs Chen was too drunk to save herself. – Source: Siang Tai
