She is reported to have left Chalong Pier this morning on a speedboat with family members to go snorkelling. While they were enjoying the trip she became separated from the others.
The family only realised she was missing when they returned to the boat to come back to Phuket. They asked the boat driver to drive around the island and found her dead in shallow water near the beach soon afterwards.
Rescue workers retrieved Ms Ji’s body and took it back to Chalong and then on to Vachira Phuket Hospital.
Police believe she may have fainted while in the water, and drowned.
