The company said the recall would affect only the domestic market and comes after it received two complaints from consumers.
The glass pieces were mixed with the food after a protection shield on a production line broke at its plant in Shiga, western Japan, the company said.
Calbee sells its brands in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea and the United States.
Shares in the company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange closed down 4.26 percent to 6,950 yen on the news.
