Burmese stabbed to death in Phuket work camp

PHUKET: A Burmese worker, Kyaw Zin Lat, 29, was stabbed to death last night (March 26) in a camp for construction workers in front of Phuket Zoo, in Chalong.

Pol Lt Wuttiwat Liangboonjinda of Chalong Police, who answered the call at around 11pm, found Mr Kyaw dead from severe knife wounds to his chest. His murderer, Maung Tun, 41, was found in the camp area with a 25-centimetre knife.

He confessed that he had argued with the victim before stabbing him to death. Mr Kyaw’s body was sent to Vachira Phuket Hospital for autopsy.

Mr Maung is being held in police custody at Chalong Police Station.
