“The Toyota Fortuner drove out of the PTT petrol station in Chalong. He went to cross over to the opposite lane, heading south, but hit the two Burmese who were riding north,” Pol Lt Wuttiwat Liangbunjinda told The Phuket News.

The Burmese were sent to Vachira Phuket Hospital where emergency department staff said Ceetu, aged 20, and So, 40, had cuts and bruises on their arms and legs but no serious injuries. After treatment they were released from hospital.

The 68-year-old American, named by police as Francis Charles Gunn, lives in Phuket. He is expected to talk with the two men to arrange a settlement.
