18-year-old drowns off Patong
PHUKET: The Patong Sea Rescue team searched in vain for four hours in the sea off Patong yesterday (June 3) after an 18-year-old man from Bangkok, Adiwut Promrat, went missing while swimming.

Adiwut was swimming with his uncle, Aphichai Phiromsod, 22, when the pair experienced problems. Apichai was rescued and taken to Patong hospital, where he is reported to be recovering.
Adiwut’s body was found this morning (June 4) floating the the sea off Kalim Beach. It was retrieved by Kusondharm Rescue Foundation volunteers.
The two were reported to have been swimming in a red flag zone but apparently had no understanding of what the flags meant.
