We are going old-school here with the 1983 arcade release of Tapper. This game allowed users to play as a bartender, sliding down root beer to thirsty patrons without dropping any mugs.

At a time when games only needed a joystick and one button, simplicity was king and save for some classic games like Pong, Asteroids, Frogger, and Pac-Man, Tapper was as simple as it got.

As the bartender, the gamer would have to serve customers in four different bars, slide down the mugs, and make sure they did this all in a reasonable amount of time.

The game caught some flack early one because, since it was originally sponsored by Anhueser-Busch, it included several references to Budweiser beer, including the theme song to the commercials.

The arcade version of the game even include a brass rail footrest, beer tap handles, and a cabinet to make it look like an actual bar.

This would not sit well with parents who sent their kids to the arcades for some wholesome entertainment, and the motif would later change to root beer.

Tapper was later ported to both Atari and PC, and even included a Mountain Dew soft drink theme.

There were never any other versions of Tapper made, but over the years it has been included in several box-game collection sets for the newer consoles.

Tapper even featured in the popular 2012 animated film Wreck-it Ralph, as a hangout spot for the in-game characters once the arcade closed.
